Psalms 82:1: "God Standeth in the congregation of the mighty; He judgeth among the gods.'
John 10:34-36: Jesus answered them, 'Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them Gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scriptures cannot be broken; say ye of Him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the son of God.'
John 3:5-8: 'Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.'
Romans 8:14,16,17: 'For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God - the spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God; and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, joint-heirs with Christ...'
I Corinthians 8:5-6: 'For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.'
Romans 6:23: 'For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.'
John 3:16: 'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'
Mark 9:1: 'And He said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.'
John 8:51: 'Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.'
I Corinthians 15:51-56: 'Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.'
Psalms 8:3-6: 'When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; what is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and has crowned him with glory and honor. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet.'
Philippians 2:5-6: 'Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God'
Matthew 5: 48: 'Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.'
Moroni 10:4-5 (BOM): 'And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that you would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. 'And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.'

This site is not promoting an organized religion nor being promoted by an organized religion. Make no mistake, however, this site is testifying that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. It is a Christian site that accepts the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon contains the fullnes of the gospel in these latter days - and the Book of Mormon confirms that the Bible is true. Both books are scripture. Also, remember the body of Christ is comprised of many different members: head, hands, feet, etc. The body of Christ is not one isolated person. Ask, seek and knock as to how you can be a part of Christ's body while continuing to read Annalee Skarin's books. Approach all these things in prayer, in the name of Jesus Christ, and He will reveal the truth to you.
How you arrived at this web site is not important - it is only important that you are here.
Perhaps you have all ready read the book, "Ye Are Gods" by Annalee Skarin, and simply want to hear someone
else's opinion. Maybe you have only heard the rumors regarding this book and have been
afraid to even pick it up. After all, the writer, Annalee Skarin, was excommunicated from
her church for not denouncing its contents.
Could it be you simply stumbled here by accident? Maybe a friend has passed this on to you. It does not matter. This site is for all who decide to stay and take a step into a higher dimension of Christianity. One that is not weighted with tradition, socialization, greed for money or power, and confining orthodox beliefs. It has been reported that Annalee Skarin disappeared in the early 1950s. Some believe she was translated into heaven, without dying. Can we believe something so un-orthodox?
Many things have been said about the author of this book. It is everyone's God-given right to believe as they choose. However, it was never Annalee Skarin's intent to become a figure to be put upon a pedestal, or the opposite. When you pick up any of her books, please remember that fact, and only focus on the message and not the scribe (a favor she often requested of the reader).
The kingdom of heaven is not in word but in power. The power (the kingdom of heaven) is within you. If you feel or have felt that power of the kingdom of heaven ignite within you from reading the works of Annalee Skarin, then that is your testimony. If you've understood the importance of the works by Annalee Skarin - you will feel inspired to pass them on. There is just enough information in this book review to supply a dash of salt for a spiritual meal "Ye Are Gods", to be savored. Pass it on. There is enough information in "Ye Are Gods" to wet the pallet that is thirsting for righteousness. Pass it on. But one's thirst will only be satisfied when one actually drinks of the waters of life (then a person need never thirst again). "Ye Are Gods" does lead to those waters. Whether a person dips his or her heart and mind into that fountain of life is a private choice.
The inside front jacket of the 1952 hard-back edition of "Ye Are Gods" describes the book as follows:
The book "Ye Are Gods" takes each individual and clothes him with dignity. It reveals that within each man is locked the powers, not only of a genius, but of divine majesty, a pattern of his own perfect unfoldment and fulfillment, a divine destiny, if man will only permit it to come forth.
It reveals what faith is. How it works, and what can be accomplished by it -- even the power to raise the dead and move mountains.
It shows that no man has a monopoly upon God nor upon His power. God belongs to all mankind just as all mankind belongs to God. It lights a highway leading upward toward divinity -- a highway which can be traveled by every mortal man of earth.
"Ye Are Gods" is a very simple book of lessons - backed by our very own "Bible", many other good books, Mother Nature (for all things bear record of God, the Father), and the Spirit of Jesus Christ within. This review will guide you briefly through each chapter - only for a small taste of what is contained within the pages of Annalee Skarin's book. Anyone can read the following. Those with an open heart and contrite spirit will ask God himself if "Ye Are Gods" is true or false. And only such questions should be asked if the book is actually being read and pondered in one's heart. ✞
Annalee Skarin invites the reader to meet something. That something is inside of himself.
But first, she states that in order to do this it will be necessary to compare man's realities
with the things he considers unreal.
That is where the exquisite unfolding of mystery begins. Annalee has a very peculiar way of tiptoeing into the reader's mind's eye to expose what most find indistinguishable. She sees what we take for granted as breathtaking. And you will also as you discover your attention drifting into the four winds and the raging deep before you realize that she has lifted the veil of dull thinking from your mind. She reminds the reader of the erosion and dilapidation of what we consider most vital to our survival on this earth. By the end of this chapter you will understand how real much of the invisible world is, and how the material world fades like a shadow.
As chapter one winds down to its conclusion, she zeros in on the point that there must be a designer, or builder of our universe. If you've ever doubted that there is a God, a Creator of all things, then study this chapter over and over. You will find it hard to believe that you ever had such uncertainties. ✞
I've read this book "Ye Are Gods" several times in the last 20 or more years, and I'll always
remember the impact this chapter had on my imagination the very first time I read it. One
paragraph "woke me up" you could say - even though I all ready believed in a spiritual world.
She did this by pointing out that there is only one thing that man cannot possibly imagine.
Only one! What is that one thing? If you want the answer to my trivia question - guess what.
You'll have to read the book.
The writer asks, "Did your parents create you? Did your existence commence with your birth into this world? Or do you have an eternal soul, something beyond this physical body of flesh and bones your father and mother gave you?" (Page 9). Even the reader who all ready believes that he has a soul will be challenged by this chapter. What is the challenge? To become acquainted with your own soul. ✞
It is my opinion that nothing could describe the essence of this chapter as well as the
following excerpt from it:
"…And God said, 'This is my work and my glory, to bring to pass the immortality and the eternal life of man.' Since that is God's work and His glory, it is also ours, for it would be impossible for Him to accomplish it without our co-operation. We must understand life and its purpose. We must comprehend our place in the great scheme of things. We must fully comprehend the great drama of the ages that has preceded our advent into this world, to take our place upon the stage of existence, and to fulfill our parts with honor. We must understand also the things that are coming on the earth, and the things that will continue to come until Righteousness is sent to rule. How can we act well our part upon the stage of life unless we understand the great plan of life? And life was meant to be eternal progress, not drab, deadly, dull, unprogressive existence." (Page 20).
The chapters that follow are written with the purpose of unfolding "the great plan of life" to the reader who has eyes to see and ears to hear. If we are really paying attention, we will begin to understand, comprehend, and thus fulfill our parts upon the stage of life. ✞
Even as a small child, Annalee held a fascination for the word "faith". As she matured, she
recognized that faith was more than a word - that faith is "a definite, tangible reality, a
principle of existence". She realized that she had to "stand it up and give it life and
meaning". But to do this, she had to hold it in her hands, to get the feel of it and then
pass it on to the world. In chapter four, the writer states that due to her search for the
understanding of faith she was not only given the meaning of the word, but also the system of
developing it within the human heart.
These next words should haunt the reader:
"He who does not approach this work with a desire to obtain all the blessings possible for man to receive, and with an open mind, will lose the light he has. He who approaches it with reverence, and with a true prayer in his heart shall receive more - even the great power of faith, in all its overwhelming glory, and will be given the understanding to use it."
Wow! What a bold statement about this work! Do we dare believe such words? I believe that anything that invites us and entices us to do good, and to pray to our Heavenly Father is of Him. Why not take her challenge and pray about the truth of these words she has written? ✞
The goal of this chapter is to begin to unfold the great principle of "FAITH" as it was revealed to the scribe of this book. This is not your run-of-the-mill rationalization of faith - so pay attention when you are reading. After all, Annalee did tell us in the previous chapter that she was given the system for developing faith within the human heart. Not the kind of faith we all ready think we have. She is talking about the kind of faith that heals the sick, repositions mountains and protects the believer from lethal things, etc. This is a very enlightening chapter. It is very specific. Even a child could understand this. Who will practice it? ✞
Chapter six begins with a beautiful testimony about the writer and her daughter. This is way
too intense for "Chicken Soup" stories. And it is far more informative than anything you will
find on Family TV channels. It was more than a miracle. This miracle was also a lesson in
faith for Annalee, and she has shared it with the rest of us so we can learn too. You will
also find exercises in controlling your thoughts here.
"Oh, men of earth, lift you minds to think, for your minds are the connection between your physical beings and your souls - it is the connection between your life and God - it is the power that can glorify you. It is the power of creation - the power of Godhood." (Page 54)
Please make a special note that this chapter (or this book) does not in any way shape or form entice the reader to control other individual's minds or thoughts. "Original thinking alone reaps the full harvest or reward. Those who use their minds to control for greedy purposes shall perish with their gains, for their very greed and selfishness shall grow as a jungle and they will become lost in it and perish without vision." (Page 55) ✞
The writer suggests that the greatest parts of our lives are spent in wasted thoughts.
She tells us, "mental maturity is the full developed power of being able to control and
use the yet unfathomed power of the mind - and the soul."
Her description of wasted, wandering thoughts is detailed and leads us through a winding maze of mediocre thinking in order to give us an example of what we should not allow our minds to do. Science tells us that man only uses 10% of his brain. Perhaps it is because 90% of our thoughts are wasted in wandering around aimlessly through the halls of the past or the avenues of fantasy instead of experiencing the fantastic "now" of our existence.
She encourages us to train our minds. With this training she writes, "minds trained like this will in time become so pure that Christ will be able to reveal His mind and will to the children of men by direct contact". (Page 62)
She also states that "up until this day there has been a period of preparation between death and the resurrection in which to attain to this state of maturity. Now, however, we are facing a new day - a day when man will 'be changed in the twinkling of an eye from mortal to immortal beings.'"
This is such a revealing chapter. Annalee also speaks of the power of the atom. I believe this book was published in the early 1950's - but she still sheds new light on the mysterious atom to people of our day. Of course, we know that when the atom is divided it brings destruction. But what can the human race do to use the atom for the opposite effect - creation? And is the power to work with atoms for good instead of destruction within the reach of you or I? Even within our own souls? ✞
We learn in this book that thoughts are seeds. We learn in this chapter how we all ready
take our thoughts and plant them, enabling them to grow. We find out that we have been doing
this all of our lives whether we plant thoughts that will produce chaos or peace in our own
lives. For surely we are the creators of our own conditions here on earth. A suggestion
is to practice planting our positive "seeds" of thought purposefully, instead of letting
them fall here or there without any specific direction. Give her exercise in thought
'planting' a try and see what happens.
She also expands on the topic of hypnotism in this chapter. I'm not going to try to explain the information she has to offer on this subject in one small paragraph. You must read what she has to say to understand.
I love the following word illustration: " The mind is like an iceberg, nine-tenths of its strength and bulk is submerged - only one-tenth of our mental capacities is contained in the conscious mind, yet it is all ours to understand, to use and to rejoice in." (Page 78). ✞
This chapter is full of quotations varying from the Bible to the Apocryphal New Testament
writings. The scribe takes all of these various ancient and modern day quotations to bring
together a powerful lesson in developing faith until its fruition.
"This book has only been written to point the finger of light to the things that have already been revealed. There is no new revelation in this work. If the things that have already been revealed are rejected, or not understood, then how can more possibly be given?" (Page 87)
I believe the writer has been successful in doing just that. So many times I have quietly turned to a new page to find some tidbit of information placed in exactly the right context and found myself saying things like - "Amazing - that makes sense to me now!" ✞
"Within each man is stored the energy, if he will use it, to seek, to search, to desire and to
reach, until the very heavens open and bestow upon him his requests, for the law of God is
that true prayer has to be answered." (Page 95)
How many of us have longed to know the answer to questions beyond our reach and then consoled ourselves with the idea that someday - after we die - we will get to ask God anything and we will finally know the answers to everything that has ever perplexed us? Annalee suggests to us that the great eternal storehouse of knowledge contains all truth - and is accessible to us now, while here ALIVE on this earth. Of course this is available to all men for God is no respecter of persons. However, this ability - or gift - must be developed first.
"Pioneering is done as far as new lands on earth are concerned. There are no new seas to cross, no new continents to explore, no new hemispheres to conquer, but the spiritual pioneering is only starting. This book contains the record of realms beyond the comprehension of man. There are new fields, new, unexplored possibilities for every earnest seeker after true freedom. None are exempt. One needs no emigration quota, no passport. He needs only a strong heart and a soul on which the finger of inspiration has lighted the power of vision. With this equipment he can carve out his future in the realms of the spiritual powers of eternity, hitherto untouched by man, where every great effort is a joy and every achievement an endless glory." (Closing paragraph - Page 100) ✞
We learn from the teacher a clear understanding of the scripture, "Abide in me, and I in you.
As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye, except
ye abide in me…"
The author also states "Modern Christianity is a shivering skeleton of dead works clothed with the glorious word 'Christianity.'" So many times in this book she makes a point of bringing to our attention that Jesus Christ promised that we could even do "greater works" than he did because he went to his Father. And that we have failed as a body to truly have faith in the words of Jesus because if we did have REAL (living) faith then we would be able to do the works that Christ did! Even cast out devils, speak with new tongues, take up serpents, drink any deadly thing without being hurt, lay hands on the sick who would recover, move mountains - and do even greater works, if we only truly believed in the name of Jesus Christ. Later in the book we discover what the NAME of Jesus Christ really is - it is more than what we've always understood it to be. ✞
"Awesome" is the one word that can describe the essence of this chapter. You may want to read
it more than once for as much of it to sink in as possible. We receive an education in
science, in Faith, in fear, in Power, and in the great omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient
breathtaking wonder of the great I AM. This chapter could be broken up into several sub
categories. Learning the meaning of the name "I AM" opens a whole new world of
understanding - as does the revealing lesson in the "omni"-ness of God. The "omni" lesson
is very scientific and she even somehow works in the explanation of fulfillment of one of the
great prophesies in the Bible which has not occurred yet. At the end you will understand
that all the lessons contained in this extensive chapter tie together many loose ends
(mysteries) about the Holy Spirit. "For in Him we live, and move and have our being."
"God cannot be monopolized. He belongs equally to every child of earth. No man, or group can possibly have a monopoly upon God. He belongs to every man who will seek diligently to find him. He will answer the cry of any man who will ask for help, for wisdom, knowledge and understanding - yea, He will continue to pour out knowledge upon any seeker after Truth until the very storehouse of knowledge is opened wide and that man will be filled with light and comprehend all things - that man who will only believe, who will ask, who will knock and who will seek." (Page 130) ✞
Did you know that the word "alchemy" means "all chemistry"? "All Chemistry" includes the
spiritual laws of change and transmutation as well as the material laws and elements."
(Page 137) Everything in existence is chemistry, you know. Did you know that the alchemists
of the dark ages were not only interested in turning lead into gold? There was something
else. Something very spiritual - and very real. The laws of chemistry never fail.
It is the most exact science.
"The laws of 'all chemistry,' which include also the spiritual substance and elements, are just as exacting and just as positive in their results as the combination of H2O which includes two substances which can not be handled nor seen, yet combined produce a positive, tangible element which is most necessary to existence. Thus the laws of the spiritual chemistry of all existence is just as exactingly perfect as any chemical laws used in a laboratory constructed and equipped by man. It is the eternal law of God being put to use to transmute any condition, any element, any loneliness, any heart-break, any suffering or tragedy." (Page 138)
The opening paragraph of this chapter is a key to the power of transmutation. I urge everyone to pick up that key and use it. If applied, this chapter alone can change a person's life. ✞
The author speaks of vibrations in this book often. Everything vibrates. Every molecule,
every atom, every electron… Every thought, every emotion, every word spoken… So what's the
big deal about vibration? The answer seems to be everywhere in this book. There is no way
it can be missed in this chapter, which is about the substance of eternal elements.
Vibration is mentioned over and over in this work called "Ye Are Gods" because it is of
"… symbols of earth grow daily less important under the searching eye of science, and we learn that all materials, all substance, all solids, all existing objects and things are only vibrations of light expressed on a material, or perhaps symbolical plane. " (Page 144)
"When we arrive at the point where we will no longer be dealing in symbols but in eternal substance of thought and vibrations, each individual will be measured, not by what he has, or even by what he knows, or who he is, but by WHAT HE IS. He will find that he is the personification of all the thoughts and vibrations he created and sent forth in life." (Page 145)
We are encouraged here to maintain only thoughts that are harmonious with vibrations of the "highest" caliber. We must overcome the low vibrations of earthly, brute instincts… Which would include pompous self-righteousness. Much of this chapter is dedicated to convincing the reader of how very destructive self-righteousness is. It is a crucial tool of Satan. The most powerful vibrations can be released from the human heart. ✞
"The highway one must travel to ascend unto the heights is one of tests and trials and
overcoming. As one journeys upward he will at last be given the three great tests…"
(Page 160 - Opening paragraph)
"Yea, 'Be ye perfect, even as the Father in heaven is perfect.'" (Page 170 - Closing paragraph)
Obviously, there are ten pages between the opening and closing paragraphs. I believe these two quotations alone are intriguing enough. ✞
Who knows how to really love? Raise your right hand. Okay, here's a more difficult question.
Who really understands love? Say yes, if you do. How about this… Do you know how to let love
pour out from you to heal and bless and enlighten all those whom you contact? Can you make love
vibrate from you hands - let your fingertips sing with it?
Here are some more interesting questions. Have you ever read the "Sermon on the Mount" (Matthew, Chapters 5-7)? Raise you hand again. Okay, here's the next one... Have you ever LIVED the Sermon on the Mount?
Do you know how to actually become perfect? We have been commanded (in the great sermon) to be perfect even as our Father in heaven is perfect. But, surprise! We do not get there the way most would assume. Learn how to love the way Jesus Christ taught in the great Sermon on the Mount. Learn how to be perfect in the most humble enduring, unselfish way. This chapter holds hands with the Bible to bring forgotten principles back to our hearts. These words are seeds of love from the author. We can plant them in our minds and souls in order to produce and understand fully this "Glory of the Universe". ✞
The beginning and final words in chapter 17 invite the reader to approach this chapter in
prayer and to pray while studying, and ponder these things in his heart. "…for only as the
Spirit of God unfolds it unto you can you know of its great truth and receive of its
blessings." (Page 197)
There are several individuals who were in the Bible who did not experience death, as are in the Book of Mormon. There was also a great city of people who were taken into heaven without dying, known as the City of Enoch - and there are certainly many more that we know not of.
Is it possible? The author lists so many verses from God's Word that tell us that the work of Jesus Christ was to bring to us eternal life. The most quoted scripture in the Bible verifies this. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:15-17 KJV)
And so, a veil is to be lifted from our minds so that we begin to understand what being "born of the spirit" truly means at last. ✞
"It takes great courage to stand alone against the world, to live true to your own destiny and
calling for the simple reason that so few have dared to step forth and live their own lives in
the complete freedom in the perfection of God's sublime direction. But as one understands the
road of his own high destiny courage will be given, it will enfold him as a shining armour."
I don't want to give away the surprising revelation of this chapter. Let me just say that you must read it. Think about it. Then give it a try. A deliberate effort. If you live these teachings, then you will know whether they are true or not.
Remember all the times in your life when you felt a longing for something more? You knew that your life wasn't really the way it was supposed to be but you just didn't know what was missing. You've longed for a fulfillment that seemed to mock you as you searched for it through material, earthly means time and time again. Yet the void seemed to enlarge within you. And you wondered where the answer is… The answer is in this chapter… and it is inside of you. It is inside us all unless we smother it with our ignorance and doubts. Read these teachings and you will know how to discover YOUR true pattern of life. ✞
At one time or another, we have all probably heard someone say the words "In the name of Jesus
Christ". Perhaps they spoke with a loud voice for all to hear. Maybe they dramatically waved
their arms through the air. Perhaps they half-heartedly ended their long repetitive prayer
with those words. But what do those words really mean? And is there power just in saying
them? Or is there something more that we need to know? What is being IN the NAME of Jesus
We learn here what the name "Jesus Christ" actually means. We learn that being "in the name of Jesus Christ" is very different than merely saying "in the name of Jesus Christ". We learn what it means to be quickened by the spirit of God. We also learn the meaning of the word "Atonement".
"His glory will become our glory when we fulfill the NAME of Jesus Christ in our lives, and we can only fulfill it as we believe in it." (Page 220) ✞
A great unfolding of power and flawlessness and light belongs to every human being. The author
reminds us that everyone who is born into this world is enlightened by the Holy Spirit. But,
it must be brought forth. It lies within us as a dormant seed needing to be nourished and
"This unfolding or bringing forth of light is a slow development from within and at first is almost unnoticeable. It is first just a feeling - the feeling a seed feels in the warm earth as it begins to unfold and manifest its powers. Then one's physical surroundings begin to be more harmonized - and thus it unfolds steadily, surely, perfectly - and the light shines brighter, with greater clearness and more joy until the full flower unfolds in all its glory." (Page 230)
Annalee is an expert at opening our eyes to the beauty of God's creation. But His beauty is not all we see as we visualize the tiny flower being formed within it's seed - the "perfume distilled, the satin texture spun" before it ever breaks free from the dark soil. We also begin to see that these amazing little miracles are symbols of the seed of God within us. Yes, our heavenly Father has planted His seed within us. "Our true heritage is divinity and only as we unfold that divinity from within us, bringing forth the embryo qualities of our Divine, Heavenly Father, which were planted in us from the beginning, can our lives be a complete fulfillment of our title, 'Sons of God.'" (Page 229)
We can also learn from the symbolism of the marriage ceremony; the adornments of the bride; the oil for the lamps of the wedding party. What extinguishes the lamps that should be shining - filling our entire beings with light? The first pages of this chapter teach us what to avoid in order to keep our lights burning. This is so simple and pure that even a child could understand - if it is read with an open mind and heart. ✞
I was sixteen when I first read this book, and completely
fascinated with the concept of being "quickened"; some would say "raptured"; or "translated into an immortal being", without
every having to die. The truths that are contained here
are undeniable regarding the concept of immortality; being born of the spirit; being quickened
in Him and by Him. I wanted to believe that we do not have to die a physical death, but I did not want to
believe that "immortality" meant anything else. Specifically - I did not believe that we
could ever become "perfect even as our Father in heaven is
"Then you say, 'But no mortal man is perfect.' That too is correct, for when man reaches perfection he is no longer a mere mortal, but becomes translated into a higher state." (Page 258)
Even the words of Jesus Christ verify the validity of this chapter and the title of this book as He said, " Is it not written in your law, I said, ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the Word of God came, and the scriptures cannot be broken; say ye of him whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou Blashphemest; because I said I am the Son of God?" (John 10:34-36 KJV)
"For though there are, indeed, gods so called, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are gods many and lords many). Yet to us there is but one God, The Father, out of whom are all things, and we in him; and One Lord, Jesus Christ through whom are all things, and we in Him." (I Corinthians. 8:5-6 - Greek original). (Page 262) ✞
This is a very short chapter. A quote will give you a taste of the essence of this chapter:
"Therefore it is given to abide in you; the record of heaven; the Comforter; the peaceable things of immortal glory; the truth of all things; that which quickeneth all things, which maketh alive all things; that which knoweth all things, and hath all power, according to wisdom, mercy, truth, justice, and judgment.
"This record that is given to abide in you is the Book of Life, but of what value is it to you if you fail to open it and to read the glorious things contained there? Yea, all truth, all knowledge, all power, and the gift of eternal life is contained in the record within you." (Page 272) ✞
This chapter takes the lessons that have been taught in the previous pages and brings them
together to unfold mysteries that we may have possibly missed in the first go-round. This is
a fairly long and valuable chapter, but I'm only going to highlight the following quotes:
"This light that is right within man is most easily developed by first using it as God directed, to judge between good and evil. When in doubt on any subject, on any information, ask the Father in the Name of Jesus Christ to reveal its truth to you by the Light of Christ which He gave to abide in you. Then rely upon that Spirit of Truth within you, or the Light of Christ, for the answer. This will bring it forth and help to develop it.
Then begin to use it with your problems - in the big issues of life - then in all your daily activities. Learn to abide in it at all times. Love it! Glorify God for giving you such a priceless gift, for within that gift is contained all peace, all knowledge, all power; yea, the very gift of life itself. It is yours to use. It has always been yours. All mankind has been struggling under its burdens of human weaknesses, sorrows, difficulties, and darkness and condemnation because it has rejected THAT Light."
Chapter 23 is a very, very, important chapter. Go over it more than once if you need to. Highlight and underline any instruction that you know will help you in your soul's journey. Remember any advise that is given on these pages, and turn another page to find yet another chapter that could transform the course of your life. ✞
"A covenant is a pledge or compact between two or more individuals or parties." (Page 303)
"Every promise of God is a covenant or pledge that will be fulfilled as we do our part, or keep our side of the compact, for a covenant is binding, and His words cannot fail." (Page 303)
"This New and Everlasting Covenant is the covenant of God with every man that cometh into the world that if he will overcome the self and learn to follow that Light of Christ, or the Spirit, it will lead him to the Christ, and the Christ will then reveal the Father." (Page 304)
I believe this chapter is sharing with us that the light of Christ that we are all born with is indeed one of God's promises - and therefore a covenant written in "the record of heaven" within our very souls. Once again, in these pages we find the encouragement to follow that Light of Christ - fulfilling our part of the covenant. We also discover new revelations regarding the importance of that light. Although we've learned much regarding this light in previous chapters there is new information to be digested. And new challenges to be accepted. ✞
"To most individuals this means something entirely different than Christ intended it to mean.
It does not mean to plod miserably through a dreary life of suffering and poverty in the hope
of a great reward in some far-off heaven. It means literally to open your heart to that divine
kingdom of heaven that is within you." (Page 318)
"Put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make not provisions for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof." (Rom. 13:14) Read this scripture and the many others like it carefully. Annalee points out in this chapter that these scriptures are not to be used as an excuse for "shiftless laziness by those too indolent to work." But we are warned not to make provisions of the flesh to fulfill the LUSTS thereof.
"Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
"Therefore take no thought saying, what shall we eat? Or, What shall we drink, or Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
"For after these things do the Gentiles seek; for the heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matt. 6:24-26 and verses 31-33)
We also receive a lesson regarding the rich young man who would not give up his worldly possessions to follow Jesus. And what the following scripture means:
"Again I say to you, easier it is a camel through the eye of a needle to pass than a rich man into the kingdom of God to enter" (Matt. 19:16-24 - Original Greek translation)
"Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto life, which the Son of man shall give unto you." (John 6"27) How do we find the meat which endureth unto life? Chapter 25 in the book Ye Are Gods will guide you there by opening up the scriptures to you. ✞
"This book was written and its covers closed. Then came the command to reopen it, for the great
quest for which the work was begun was not fully revealed. The quest was for a complete
understanding and revelation of that small word FAITH - faith to move mountains, dissolve
misfortunes and endow man with its infinite power… And though the book was written this
power still remains just beyond reach. That must never be, lest the purpose of the book
be in vain and its revealed truths remain fruitless in your hands, or worse still, only words
written upon many pages." (Page 330)
The writer reminds us that "faith is the substance of things hoped for, the element of things not seen"
She opens our minds to the fact that "when this greatest of all elements is combined in the right proportions it becomes as definitely tangible to the physical senses as H2O combined as water." (Page 331)
"Faith, the great mother element, the dynamic, Spiritual substance which fills all space, all time and composes all things is surrounding us always. We are literally immersed in it, composed of it, and have complete control over it as we work in accordance with the law of the universe - the law of love-love for God, for our fellowman, for all created things and love for this infinite substance of everlasting power and intelligence as our mortal fingers reach out to take hold of it." (Page 333)
"Combine this divine, Christ-like love with a knowledge and understanding of the great principle of faith and the keys of the universe and of eternal life will be placed in your hands and no power in existence will ever be able to take them from you. This Light or Spirit of Christ is the Living Word of God as it bears witness in your own soul, or is spoken through your own heart. 'And they were called Gods unto whom the word of God came,' For to such is given the keys of all-power and divine majesty." (Page 334)
"For this purpose was this book written, and for this purpose it has come forth - that the Spirit of God might begin to be poured out upon all flesh, and that a knowledge of God might cover the earth as the waters cover the sea, that the bigotry and pride and self-righteousness and arrogance and monopolies might cease and the power of God be made manifest in the lives of all men. (Page 335)
And finally, this book leaves us with a thunderous warning and powerful promise. She informs us of the following, "…and the seal of God is upon it and none can destroy it." ✞
It is my hope that in reading this book review you will feel the aching desire
that is in your heart to understand God's Word the way it was meant to be understood.
The pages of this book are full of light, and love, and faith. It contains many mysteries
of Godliness (ponder what the word Godliness means).
When you have achieved your earthly goals and don't understand why you are still not satisfied - perhaps you will realize that the incredible void you are feeling is a gift from God. If you seek to fill that void with the Light of Christ you will begin to find complete fulfillment as the mysteries of Godliness - the secrets of the kingdom of heaven -- are revealed to you line upon line and precept upon precept. Live the teachings of Jesus Christ and you will know the truth of them - As the writer often declared. Discover the teachings of Jesus Christ unveiled between the covers of this book and Annalee's other books that follow this one. There is nothing in these pages that has been invented… This is a book of discovery. A discovery of mysteries ancient and divine which until now have been veiled by our own lack of understanding - and lack of searching - and lack of asking GOD HIMSELF for the answers.

"Sons of God" by Christine Mercie, is another amazing book published by M.A.P. It is the witness of Christine Mercie who was translated in the 1950s. Annalee Skarin assisted her in writing the account of her (Christine's) spiritual re-birth (see page 60 of SONS OF GOD). This little book includes some interesting information regarding Annalee as well. I highly reccomend this beautiful book as the best way to introduce family or friends to Annalee Skarin's book "Ye Are Gods".
As a young woman, I was loaned a copy of "Sons of God" by a friend who told me that she had a book that was a true story about a woman who was translated. She asked me if I'd like to read it sometime. You bet I did! And after reading this small but powerful book - I couldn't wait to get my hands on the book that was spoken of by Christine Mercie - "Ye Are Gods"(I had never heard of "Ye Are Gods" or Annalee Skarin before I read Christine's little book). Why did it have such an impact on me? If you read it - I believe you will know the answer. ✞
