A superior business involves how you affect other people along the road. Take notes about each of your clients- find out about their careers, what they do in their spare time, what their dreams are, remember what subject they speak of most – for this is what is most important to them. Spend more time listening than trying to entertain your client with your own agenda, and soon you will find repeat business booming because of the magnetic affect of emotional, human interaction. People skills also involve humility and the willingness to learn from others with more experience and smoother communications skills. Find a mentor and look carefully at their work and find out more about how they became successful. Ask your mentor if you can assist them or study them. You can draw a mentor to you by showing an interest in their talent, skill and personal dreams. Don't wait until you get your cosmetology license to hone your people skills - start while you are in beauty school! |
